Christmas at Guildford Sunset Homes

Residents and staff started the festive season with their annual Christmas carol concert.

Residents and staff at Guildford Sunset Homes were joined by the Surrey Serenaders for their annual Christmas Carol Concert this week which kick started the festive season and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

The Surrey Serenaders choir is part of the Surrey Federation of Women’s Institutes (SFWI) and started in 2013 by the then Federation chairman Elizabeth Fisher with the aim of entering Singing for Joy - the National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI) Centenary Choir Competition.

The choir joins GSH each year to put on a festive performance of carols in the formal lounge of the Grade II listed Merrow House - part of the Guildford Sunset Homes estate. The carols are followed by a festive buffet of sandwiches and mince pies, as well as teas and coffees in the kitchen dining area.
